STAR Skate
Our STAR Skate program is designed for skaters who have completed CanSkate Stage 6 and are ready to take their skating to the next level. Whether a skater’s goal is to compete, perform, or simply grow their skills, STARSkate offers the structure, support, and challenge to help them succeed.

STAR 1–5 introduces the foundational elements of figure skating, including skills, singles, pairs, dance, and synchronized skating. Led by certified Skate Canada coaches, this nationally recognized program helps skaters develop strong technique while encouraging creativity and confidence on the ice.

After STAR 1–5, skaters can move into STAR 6–Gold, a more advanced program that builds on their skills and prepares them for assessments, competitions, and higher-level performance opportunities.

At Rockland Skating Club, we’re proud to offer a competitive stream for skaters who are ready to push further. Our skaters have represented the club at various levels of competition, with many earning podium placements and titles, including multiple provincial champions. Our coaching team is committed to supporting each skater’s unique goals, whether recreational or competitive.

Through STARSkate, skaters can explore several disciplines:
-
Skills – Precision-based skating techniques that form the base for all other disciplines
-
Singles (Freeskate) – The most recognized discipline, combining jumps, spins, and choreography
-
Pairs – Two skaters perform elements in unison with lifts, throws, and synchronized movement
-
Ice Dance – A blend of rhythm, music interpretation, and patterned footwork
-
Synchronized Skating – Team skating with creative formations and flowing movement
-
Artistic – A focus on expression, musicality, and performance quality
-

Whether your skater dreams of competing at high levels or simply wants to grow and shine on the ice, STARSkate is where it all begins.
